You may want to evaluate your Leadership by asking some of your staff the following questions. You may answer them yourself to check if there is a gap between your point of view and theirs.

I - THE LEADER’S AUTO EVALUTION OF HIS/HER ROLE

  1. Are you motivating your team to reach your team’s goals and objectives?
  2. Are you mediating between your staff when needed?
  3. Are you educating them?
  4. Are your directives crystal clear?
  5. Do they trust you?
  6. Is the communication circulating properly?
  7. Are the relationships in the staff supportive to one another?
  8. Can we say that the leader is capable of changing his/her point of view in a discussion with his/her staff?

II - THE LEADER’S ROLE through the staff’s eyes

  1. Do you feel motivated by your boss to reach your team goals and objectives?
  2. Is your boss mediating among your colleagues when needed?
  3. Is your boss educating you or making sure you develop?
  4. Are his/her directives crystal clear?
  5. Do you trust your boss?
  6. Is he/she making sure that the information circulates well?
  7. Would you say that the relationships with the staff are supportive for one another?
  8. Can you say that your boss is capable of changing his/her point of view in a discussion?
